Whew! I feel like I spent most of today in the van.
Oh. Wait a minute. That's probably because I did spend most of today in the van!
The day looked like this:
8:15am-- Jeremy to Bible camp for the day (45 minute drive)
10:15am- home
11:15am- Samantha to swimming lessons (35 minute drive)
1:30pm - home
1:45pm - Back to camp to pick up Jeremy (did you know it is possible to get lost in two different spots on two different trips going on the same route to the same place? Yep. That's my life.)
4:15pm - home
5:30pm - boys to baseball
7:30 - home
I think I am a very grey area person. Life is not black or white for me. If someone asks me if I am more like X or more like Y, in most cases I feel like I am a mixture of the two. It is a very rare thing for me to have a strong leaning in one direction on a particular issue or characteristic. (Except when it comes to Hillary Clinton. But I digress.)
So today, I was very much wishing I was home instead of running all over creation. I like it at home. I tend to be a homebody. Home is a good place to be. It has everything we may need and it is comfortable.
But at the very same time, I was truly enjoying running all over creation and seeing new sights and watching my kids do their thing. It was fun and very satisfying to watch them grow and learn and spread their wings. Jeremy off to camp by himself... Samantha jumping off the diving board... Joshua hitting a line drive up the middle and taking second base. And of course, Anna saying "Hi" to everyone we meet. This is why we do what we do, day in and day out. Love them, teach them, encourage them and watch them go.
And at the end of the day, the homebody in me gets to tuck them into bed and sit for a minute in the quiet and be very glad I am home.
On a different note, it has been another sad day for the Morrison family. Read about it here.
Please pray for them.

I love a day like that. Sadly, those days are past for me as my youngest drives himself now. But nothing's better than seeing your kids have fun doing activities they love! Enjoy!
