While the woman in Arizona who gave birth to sextuplets seems to be getting all the media attention, we have our own local family who accomplished the same thing on the same day.

Read some of their story here. It seems to be a more critical situation for these babies. Maybe that explains the lack of media attention? Either way, this family needs our prayers. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them right now.

It is hot here. I do not like heat. I do not like humidity. I refuse to turn my air conditioner on in June. It is just not supposed to be so dang hot this early in the summer. So I suffer. I sit and I sweat and I grit my teeth. I will win this one. I will not. give. in. The air conditioner stays off until at least mid-July. Unless the temperature tops 100 degrees. Then I might reconsider. ;)

The kids enjoyed the heat. We had an impromptu sleepover after baseball last night. A friend of mine with kids the same age took Samantha overnight to play with her daughter and I took her son to play with my boys. I didn't see hide nor hair of them pretty much all day. They were exhausted by day's end. And filthy. Apparently they were building a fort by digging a hole under the front porch. There was a lot of talk about shovels, chisels, hauling dirt and rocks. They had their own little construction site going on under there! Later, Jeremy informed me that he took a piece of plywood under there to cover up the hole so the dogs wouldn't fall in. (They like to sleep under the porch when it's hot) I was impressed by his thoughtfulness. What a little man.

Here is one of only a couple of pictures that exist with me and my husband together. I am usually the one behind the camera and that's how I prefer it. This was taken at Anna's birthday party last month. Aren't we adorable? Okay, aren't me and the baby adorable? All I can say to Derick is would it kill ya to put your arm around me or something? ;)

Have a great night!

Lovely picture! Yes, you and the baby Are adorable! And Derrick would have put his arm around you, but then who would have held up the counter, eh? (Great kitchen!)

I hadn't heard of the people in Arizona, but will pray for the family in Minnesota. The father and mother look so Young! Do 11 oz. babies ever really survive? I hope so.

I thought those parents looked young too! I think the mom is only 24 or something. I don't think I could have handled that pressure at that age.

Thanks for the kitchen compliment but that is actually my mom's kitchen. We had the party at their house because it is closer to everyone and my house was too messy. She has more room, too so it works out well for everyone. Especially me! ;)

Oh, Jules! You're just beautiful! (And a handsome couple - cool!) She's grown too, too fast. Just way too fast.
