I did it. I spilled the beans. I finally told a family member about this blog.
I don't know how many of you share your blogs with family. I hesitated because I kept thinking that I wanted a place to vent when my family starts really bugging me! I thought that if everyone knew about it then I would have to go back and delete any incriminating posts! ;)
Can I really be candid and uncensored if I know my family will be reading this?
Do any of you have secret blogs?
And KaKa- if you are reading this, then comment, would ya? ;)

KA-KA is in the house! Finally!! You made me create a login with Google so that I could leave you a comment about your blog because you don't allow anonymous people to comment. I could have just sent you a personal email, but no I went the distance for you and created my own blog so that I too could write down my heartfelt feelings and get sappy and whatever else it is you bloggers do on a daily basis. So with that said, your blog is very interesting. I thought I knew you, but I don't!! :) Just kidding -- your blog is a "good read". I'm learning more about what goes on in that head of yours and if I can be completely honest - I'm not sure I like what I see. Now Ju Ju Bean -- you know you're my favorite sister (younger sister that is).
Anyway -- I'll continue reading and if you'd like to get started on my blog here it is playintiddlewinks.blogspot.com. Keep in mind I'm just starting out and I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'm not sure I like that name either. Got any other ideas? Maybe I should just use KA-KA POOP? Isn't that what KA-KA means?
Talk to you soon!
No secrets here. One of my big reasons For blogging is so that my parents and various relations can see what we are up to. I've told some friends about my blog, too. (None of these people ever comment on the blog, though some call or e-mail comments.) The only times I have ever worried about things that I have posted getting me in trouble is when we were trying to sell the house & I hadn't mentioned it to my boss that we wanted to move, and a couple times when I posted mildly critical comments about a neighbor. Mostly, I do try to keep in mind that the internet is a very public place, and anything I write Could be seen by the "wrong" person and cause hurt. Maybe I've missed something, but I don't remember your ever writing critical comments about people?
I understand (at least I've seen people say on the WTM board) that quite a few people Do have private-from-families blogs, so I suppose that there are some families where having a private place to express feelings is appreciated. Either way seems okay to me, and I always enjoy your writing!
Well, I started blogging for family to be able to "see" that we weren't "that weird". ;-) But I did try to keep the blog from, um, certain family members. Unfortunately, when I'd post pictures, Zorak would kindly email a link to them. I mean, I'm glad he's proud of his kids and all, but... *sigh* A little space would be nice, now and then. ;-)

I started blogging for my family at first, so they would know what our family was up to whenever they just wanted to check in. But I think over time (gosh, it's been almost 3 yrs now) it's blended into something I do ust as much for my family, and all of you blogging friends out there, as well as for myself. A nice outlet where I can say almost anything I want to, and feel like at least I got it off my chest.

I have shared my blog with both my mother and MIL, as well as several friends. I know my mother reads it because she scolded me about my cholesterol that I posted about! OOPS. So I do try not to say anything that might be hurtful to anyone who actually knows me.
