We didn't hear anything from the job people today. I am assuming that they need to talk to the powers-that-be about the salary increase. That could take some time. I hate waiting but I know it is unavoidable. Meanwhile, I walk around my house and wonder if we could really sell it and if we could really live here without Derick until it sells.
Every fall, our town has its annual Fall Festival which is a typical small town celebration with a parade, carnival rides and games, food stands, beer tents, queen coronation, yadda, yadda, yadda. They host a 5k run every year to kick off the event. Samantha surprised me this week by asking if she could run in the race this year. Our Community Ed program is holding a class for 3rd-6th graders who want to run in the 5k and she wanted to be a part of it. Of course I said yes and today was her first practice. It was close to 90 degrees and the humidity was unbearable. When I picked her up her face was as red as a beet but she looked like she had fun. It's always such a nice surprise to see your children do something that you would never have had the desire or courage to do. I am not a runner and so it was pretty cool to see her as one. I hope she continues to enjoy it.
Have a great night!
